Home Farm - The Dairy Dunragit

This is The Dairy at Home Farm. It's a converted farm building for two people, near Dunragit in Dumfries and Galloway. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well done.

It's one bedroom upstairs, with a super king bed. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. One's an en-suite. It's all on one level except for the bedroom, which is up a flight of stairs. They're not too bad.

Because it was a dairy, there's a window in the living area that looks right into the cow shed. You can sit and watch them go for milking. It's a working farm, so you'll see tractors and hear animals. It's not loud, but it's there.

Inside, there's a wood burner, a jacuzzi bath in one of the bathrooms, and a hot tub outside. The living space is open plan. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. The bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.

The garden and patio are yours, and there's parking right outside. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Location wise, you're about six miles from Stranraer for shops and things. The coast is close. Portpatrick and Sandhead are pretty little harbours. The RSPB Mull of Galloway is good for seabirds. There are beaches too.

For walking, the Southern Upland Way passes nearby. If you like gardens, Glenwhan Gardens are just up the road and the Logan Botanical Gardens are a short drive. The Galloway Forest Park and the 7Stanes mountain biking trails are within half an hour or so. There's a golf course a couple of miles away.

You can get the ferry to Ireland from Cairnryan for a day trip if you want. It's about a twenty minute drive.
