Machermore Cottage
Machermore Cottage is in Auchenmalg. It's detached, which means you're not right up against another house. It looks out over fields to Luce Bay. You can see the water from the front.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It was all redone in 2021, so it's in good shape. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The stairs are normal. There's a walk-in shower in the bathroom. The kitchen and living room are open plan, so it's one big space. The big window in the living room is where you get the view. The garden faces the same way.
The place is listed as wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but you'd need to check the specifics if that's important for you. There's a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. It has a dishwasher and washing machine. Parking is on site. There's storage for bikes. No pets.
It's on a section of The Whithorn Way, which is a long walking and cycling route. The coast is right there. The beach is about a mile and a half down the road.
Logan Botanic Garden is worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. It's about a 25 minute drive. The RSPB nature reserve at the Mull of Galloway, which is Scotland's most southerly point, is about half an hour away by car.
