The Lodge On The Beach
The Lodge on the Beach is in Auchenmalg on the Dumfriesshire coast. It's a two-bedroomed log cabin that sleeps six. One bathroom. It gets a 4 Star rating.
It's a detached cabin on an eight acre plot. The beach is right there, just yards from the door. You get the views and the sound of the waves. The sunsets over the Mull of Galloway are good.
Inside, it's got ground floor facilities and a walk-in shower. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site. You can bring up to two pets.
There's a pub and restaurant a short walk along the beach. Glenluce is a few minutes by car for a local shop. Stranraer is twenty minutes away for supermarkets.
For days out, the 7Stanes mountain biking trails are at Kirroughtree. Wigtownshire County golf club is less than ten minutes away. There are more courses in the area. Wigtown is Scotland's National Book Town. The Mull of Galloway is the most southerly point and has an RSPB nature reserve. Portpatrick and the Isle of Whithorn are worth visiting.
