Driftwood Cottage
Driftwood Cottage is in Portpatrick. It's a small fishing village in the south of Scotland.
The cottage sleeps four, with two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and comfortable. The stairs are steep, just so you know.
You get a small, enclosed garden at the back. It's a good spot if you have a dog, we take up to two. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The village is built around the harbour. There's a small sandy beach. You can walk down to the sea in a few minutes. A couple of pubs by the water do food.
For walks, you can pick up the Southern Upland Way from the cliffs above the harbour. It's a coast-to-coast route. The Scotland's National Trails site has maps.
If you drive, the RSPB Mull of Galloway reserve is about half an hour south. It's good for seabirds. Logan Botanic Garden is also about 30 minutes away. It's part of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
Golf is nearby. There's also sea fishing. The 7Stanes mountain biking trails are within a 30 minute drive if that's your thing.
