Anchor Cottage
Anchor Cottage is one of two cottages on a lane in Portpatrick. It's a terraced cottage, but you get your own enclosed garden out the back. The view from the patio doors is straight out to the harbour and the sea.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One king size bed upstairs, one double. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. The stairs are steep. It's a cottage.
You're about a two minute walk from the harbour. There are two or three pubs right there that do food. The beach is small and sandy, good for a paddle.
The village is on the Southern Upland Way, so you can pick up the coast path straight from the harbour wall. The cliffs are good for a walk. On a clear day you can see Ireland.
Golfers can get to Portpatrick Golf Club in about five minutes by car. The first tee is right on the cliffs.
For a day out, Logan Botanic Garden is about a twenty minute drive. It's a sub-tropical garden, quite unusual for up here. Further afield, you've got places like Castle Kennedy Gardens near Stranraer. The 7stanes mountain biking trails are within about a half hour drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car on the lane outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well behaved dog is welcome.
