Mishmash
It’s called Mishmash. It’s an apartment on the top floor of a Georgian house in Arnside. The windows are huge, from the floor to the ceiling, and they look straight out over the water and the viaduct. You can see the sun set from the main room.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower and its own door out to a big terrace. The other bedroom has a super king size bed that can be split into two singles if you need. The second bathroom has a proper bath with a shower over it.
The terrace is south-west facing, so it gets the sun in the afternoon and evening. There’s a table and chairs out there. It’s a good spot.
Arnside itself is small. There’s a village shop, a few pubs that do food, and a chippy. The train station is about a five minute walk away. You can get the train to Grange-over-Sands in a few minutes, or further into the Lakes.
If you like walking, you’re right in the middle of it. Arnside Knott is just up the hill. The whole area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can walk along the coast, or up through the woods. Leighton Moss, the RSPB reserve, is a short drive away.
By car, you can get to Cartmel in about 15 minutes. That’s where the racecourse and the sticky toffee pudding shop are. Windermere and Bowness are about half an hour’s drive. The Yorkshire Dales are about the same distance the other way.
In the apartment you’ve got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for two cars. All the bedding and towels are included. It’s got a 5 Star rating, so everything’s in good order.
