Watersedge Retreat is in Sandside, just outside Arnside in Cumbria. It's a two-bedroom cottage. It sleeps four, and we let two well-behaved dogs come too.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the River Kent estuary to the Lake District fells. You get that from the lounge and the main bedroom upstairs. Both rooms have a glass balcony you can step out onto. It's a modern build, so everything is on one level once you're inside, no steep stairs. There's one bathroom with a shower.
It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen has what you need. Bedding and towels are included. There's a dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. We provide a cot and a highchair if you're bringing little ones.
Arnside village is close. There's a decent fish and chip shop, a few cafes, and pubs. Most are dog-friendly. Milnthorpe is a short drive for supermarkets. The beach is about a mile away.
For a local walk, you can follow the coast path. The whole area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you fancy a swim or a spa, there's the Silverdale caravan park which has a pool and sauna you can pay to use.
You're well placed for day trips. Levens Hall, with its topiary gardens, is about ten minutes by car. The southern Lake District, like Windermere and Bowness, is roughly half an hour's drive. The Yorkshire Dales are about the same distance in the other direction. The Lake District National Park website is useful for planning.
That's about it. It's a quiet spot with a good view, handy for the coast and for getting into the Lakes.
