This is Woodpecker. It's one of two holiday pods we have on a small site near Hayle in Cornwall. It's tucked back in some trees, so it feels quiet.
It sleeps four. There's one main room with a double bed and a kitchen area, and a separate little bedroom with bunk beds. There's a shower room at the back. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and has what you need, but it's not a hotel. It's a good option if you want something simple.
You'll have your own pod and the bit of decking outside it. The site has a small shop for basics, a laundrette, and a play area for kids. It's a short drive, or a 25-minute walk, into Hayle town.
The main reason to be here is the beaches. Gwithian is about five minutes in the car. It's three miles of sand, good for swimming and surfing. St Ives is about 20 minutes away. You can drive, but parking is hard. It's often easier to get the train from Hayle or St Erth.
If you head the other way, towards Penzance, you'll get to Marazion and St Michael's Mount. You can walk out to it at low tide. It's a full day out if you visit the castle. The National Trust runs it.
In terms of what's here: the pod has a TV, wifi, all bedding, and parking right outside. There's a golf course nearby. The site allows pets.
If you need more space, you can book the pod next door, called Owl, as well.
For planning days out, the Cornwall Council countryside access site is useful for footpaths, and Visit Cornwall has general information.
