The Light House
The Light House is in Gwithian village, about a mile from the beach. It sleeps eight but would work for a group of six or seven that doesn't mind sharing. There's an open plan feel downstairs because the conservatory links through to the living room and kitchen.
The garden is mostly lawn, with a patio at the back. It's good for a barbecue. You can have two dogs.
There's a double bedroom on the ground floor. It's compact so it's really best for one person, though a couple could use it if needed. There's a roller blind you can pull down to separate that room and the ground floor shower room from the rest of the downstairs.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has a kingsize bed and you can see the sea. There's a bunk room on that floor too. Then there's a twin bedroom up on the second floor. The stairs to get up there are steep, so that's worth knowing.
Gwithian Towans beach is the main one here. It's big, dog friendly most of the year, and gets windy. You'll see kites and windsurfers. At low tide there are lots of rock pools. Lifeguards cover it in season.
St Ives is about ten minutes by car. The train from St Erth to St Ives follows the coast and the views are good. It's easier than parking. You can reach both the north and south coasts within half an hour, which is useful for surfers checking different spots.
For walks, the coast path is right there. The Godrevy headland is nearby, with the lighthouse. Inland, there's countryside to explore.
Facilities wise, you've got two bathrooms, a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
