Bee Cottage

Bee Cottage is on the edge of Reawla, near Hayle. It's a stone cottage, set back from the road so it's quiet. The garden is enclosed, so it's private and safe for kids or dogs.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've just had it refurbished, so it's comfortable and clean. There's an outbuilding with hanging space for wetsuits, and room outside for bikes or boards.

You're about ten minutes from Gwithian beach. It's sandy, good for families, and popular with surfers. It's tidal, so part of the beach can get cut off at high tide. The walk from the car park is a bit of a trek.

St Ives is just over three miles away. You can drive, but the park and ride at Lelant Saltings is easier. The train from there into St Ives is supposed to be one of the most scenic routes. St Ives is busy, with cobbled streets and a lot of places to eat.

Hayle estuary is good for walking and birdwatching. For a pasty, Philps in Hayle is proper. You eat it in the car looking at the harbour.

If the weather's bad, Birds of Paradise near Hayle has birds, animals, and an indoor play area.

We allow up to two dogs. There are dog-friendly beaches like Mexico Towans and Godrevy nearby.

Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

Useful links: National Trust Cornwall and Cornwall Council Countryside for walking. For the train to St Ives, Great Western Railway.
