The Nest
The Nest is a one bedroom cottage attached to our house, on Lelant Downs. It's for two people. We're on a quiet lane, not far from the Hayle estuary.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's small but everything's new and it's been done to a decent standard. The bed is in a mezzanine upstairs. The stairs to it are steep and a bit narrow, just so you know. They're fine for most people, but something to be aware of.
You've got your own entrance and a little patio area. It's all open plan downstairs. The shower room is en-suite.
The local pub is a five minute walk. It does food. There's a shop about a mile away in the village. St Ives is three miles down the road. You can drive it, but parking can be a pain in summer. It's easier to get the train from St Erth station, which is two minutes away by car. The line runs right along the coast into St Ives. The Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum are there if you're into that.
The big beaches at Hayle and Gwithian are a short drive. You can walk for miles there. For a proper coastal walk, the South West Coast Path is accessible nearby. National Trust Penwith has good information on the area.
We're well placed for driving west. Land's End, Sennen, Porthcurno, and Penzance are all within about half an hour.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, parking right outside. We provide bedding and towels. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. We accept up to two dogs.
If you're a bigger group, we have another cottage called The Lodge next door. You can book both together.
