Beach Retreat

This is Beach Retreat. It's a detached timber lodge in the grounds of a large house up near Carbis Bay. You get your own enclosed patio that wraps around it, so it's private. It's single storey, so no stairs.

It's a lodge, so it's not huge. It sleeps two people in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious. The main beam runs across the middle of the living area, so you do have to mind your head if you're tall.

You're right in the woodland part of the grounds, about a minute's walk from the South West Coastal Path. You can turn left on the path for Carbis Bay, or right to walk into St Ives town and harbour. That walk into St Ives takes about 15-20 minutes. The nearest beach is a quarter of a mile away.

There's a shop and a pub half a mile down the road in Carbis Bay. The local area is good for walking and beaches. You're about a ten minute drive from St Ives proper, with all the galleries and restaurants. The coastal train from St Erth stops at Carbis Bay and is a nice way to get in without parking.

For days out, you can drive to places like Marazion for St Michael's Mount, or Penzance, within about 20 minutes. The surfing beaches like Gwithian and Portreath are up the coast, maybe 20-30 minutes by car.

Facilities: it's got parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.

If you're planning walks or looking into the local area, the National Trust Cornwall site is useful, as is the South West Coast Path page.
