Mordros

It's called Mordros. It's in Carbis Bay, on the hill above the beach. It's a detached house.

Sleeps seven, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well kept and comfortable.

The layout's a bit different. You come in on the middle floor, to the bedrooms. The main living room and kitchen are up on the top floor. That's because of the view. You get the whole of Carbis Bay beach right out the window. It's a proper panorama. French doors open onto a small balcony.

The garden is split-level, with a patio. A short path leads down through the chine to the beach. It's a five minute walk, maybe less. You can see the sea from the house.

Carbis Bay beach is lovely. Golden sand, usually very clean. There's a little beach shop and a cafe. The RNLI lifeguards are on duty in the summer. On a very low tide, you can sometimes walk round to Hayle, but that's rare.

St Ives is about a mile along the coast road. You can walk it on the coast path, or get the train. The station at Carbis Bay is a short walk from the house. The St Ives branch line is a scenic route.

St Ives has everything: the harbour, the Tate gallery, shops, restaurants. It gets busy in summer. The parking at the house is useful for that.

The house has WiFi, central heating, and parking for two cars. No pets, sorry.

For planning days out, the National Trust Cornwall page is good, and so is Cornwall Council's page on the South West Coast Path.
