Thatch Cottage

Thatch Cottage is ours. It's on our farm in Rosudgeon. It's detached, with a proper thatched roof. You can see a bit of the sea from the upstairs windows, over the fields.

It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after but it's not a show home. It's a farm cottage. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. We allow two.

You're on a working farm, so you'll see us and the animals going about. There are footpaths from the gate. The coast path is half a mile down the lane, at Mount's Bay. For a longer walk, you can get to Marazion along the coast in about forty minutes. The cycle path network is in Marazion too, if that's your thing.

Marazion is two miles by car. That's where St Michael's Mount is. You can walk over at low tide or get the boat. It's run by the National Trust.

Penzance is about four miles. You can get the ferry over to the Isles of Scilly from there, or the helicopter from Land's End. The Scillies are a full day out, but it's a good one if the weather's right.

There's a local shop and a pub about half a mile up the road in the village. They do food. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Penzance.

In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, TV, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking right outside. There's a charcoal BBQ in the garden.

For planning, the Visit Cornwall site is useful, and the South West Coast Path people have all the walking maps.
