Suncroft

Suncroft is a detached house at the end of a road in Praa Sands. It’s on a hill, so the views are good. You can see right across the beach and out to sea.

It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It’s a 3 Star place, so again, it’s clean and comfortable but not luxury.

The beach is just down a little path from the house, maybe a minute's walk. It’s a long, sandy beach. There’s a surf school there in summer and lifeguards. The main patio is big and flat, good for sitting out. There’s another, smaller patio higher up the slope. The walk up to it is steep, but the view from the top is even better.

There’s a shop and a pub about a quarter of a mile away. The pub does food.

For a day out, Porthleven is about ten minutes by car. It’s a proper harbour with restaurants and some good walks. Marazion is a bit further, maybe fifteen minutes. That’s where St Michael's Mount is. You can walk out to it at low tide. National Trust St Michael's Mount.

The Lizard Peninsula is about half an hour south. It feels different down there, more wild. Kynance Cove is spectacular when the tide is out. You can drive to the most southerly point at Lizard Point and see the lighthouse.

At the house, you’ve got a wood burner for cooler evenings, a dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. There’s parking on site. You can bring up to two dogs. We include bedding and towels.

If you're looking for walks or other places to visit, the National Trust Cornwall site is useful, and so is Cornwall National Landscape.
