High Lanes

High Lanes is in Clowance Wood. It’s a detached stone cottage.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star. It’s comfortable. There are two wood burners, one in the main living room and one in the smaller second sitting room.

The garden is fully enclosed, which is useful if you’re bringing a dog. It’s gravel and patio with some flower beds. There’s also a conservatory.

You’re about four miles from Hayle beach, which is long and sandy. Godrevy lighthouse is visible from there. Portreath is a bit further up the coast, maybe ten minutes in the car. It’s a popular family spot.

For a day out, St Ives is a short drive. The harbour is nice but it gets busy. You can get the train from St Erth station instead, which follows the coast. The Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum are there if you like art.

St Michael’s Mount at Marazion is about twenty minutes away. You walk across the causeway at low tide or get a boat. The National Trust runs it.

There’s a local pub and a small shop about a mile away. Trevaskis Farm has a café and restaurant. For walkers, the South West Coast Path is all along here. Cyclists use the old tram line between Portreath and Devoran.

Further out, within half an hour or so, you’ve got places like the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, Mousehole, and Lands End.

Facilities: parking, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair available. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
