Wheal Metal Lodge is in Sithney. That's inland, not far from Helston. It's a detached wooden lodge, Scandinavian style. It's on its own so you've got privacy.
It sleeps two people. There are two bedrooms, but they're both singles, so it's really for friends or a couple who don't mind separate beds. One bathroom with a shower.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well kept and everything works. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have a dog. Oh, actually, no pets sorry. I forgot.
Facilities are good. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and TV. There's parking right outside and an electric vehicle charger if you need it.
The location is the main thing. You're about 20 minutes drive from the south coast, places like the Helford River. The north coast with its surfing beaches, like Godrevy, is about half an hour the other way. So you can pick your day depending on the weather.
Penzance is about 15 minutes away. It's got the usual shops and museums. The promenade is good for a flat walk. The outdoor pool at Jubilee Pool is salt water, which is different.
The area is old mining country, so there's a lot of history. You're on the edge of the old Godolphin Estate. For walks and days out, the National Trust Cornwall page is useful. Also, the Cornwall Council Countryside site has maps for local paths.
Shops and a couple of pubs are in the nearest village, about three miles away. You'll need a car.
