The Poplars

The Poplars is a bungalow in Fraisthorpe. It's detached, so there's nobody above or below you. The garden's yours, and it looks out over fields and horse paddocks.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one double, one smaller double, and a single. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. The layout is all on the ground floor, which is good if stairs are a problem. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

The main thing is it's quiet. It's a tiny hamlet, just a few houses. You're about a five minute walk from Fraisthorpe Beach, which is a long, sandy beach that leads right into Bridlington if you fancy a walk.

Bridlington's the nearest proper town, about a mile and a half along the beach or a short drive. It's got all the usual seaside stuff, shops, places to eat, a harbour. For a bigger day out, the RSPB Bempton Cliffs are about 15 minutes drive north. It's good for seabirds, even if you're not a serious birdwatcher.

Filey and Scarborough are within half an hour south and north. Inland, the Wolds are nice for a drive or a walk. Beverley and Driffield are market towns nearby. York is about an hour away if you want a city day.

Facilities: there's a wood burning stove, parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and the garden has furniture. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance and has a ground floor wet room. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
