Wildflower View
This place is called Wildflower View. It’s a shepherd’s hut on the edge of Gembling village, near Driffield. It’s set in the garden of the old village school.
It sleeps two on the kingsize bed. It’s all open plan, so it’s one room really, with the kitchen and living space together. The bed is raised up a bit so you can see out over the fields. The bathroom has a shower and one of those old high-level cistern toilets. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
You’re on your own out there as it’s detached. Outside there’s a patio, a BBQ, and a hot tub. The garden has patches of wildflowers. It’s very quiet.
The coast is about a 15 minute drive. Barmston beach is the closest, it’s sandy. Bridlington and Hornsea are a bit further along. Both have proper seafronts, shops, and cafes.
Driffield market town is ten minutes away for supermarkets and things. For walks, you’re right on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. It’s good cycling country. Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall are within half an hour if you like stately homes.
In the hut you’ve got a TV, a kitchenette with a small table, and heating. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s parking right next to it.
