The Old Barn used to be a stable. It's about two hundred years old. We converted it a while back. It's just for two people.
You're in a hamlet called North Cattleholmes. There are only three houses. It feels properly remote. You'll see hares and owls from the garden bench. There's a wetland a mile away where you might spot otters if you're quiet.
The bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor. It's all one level, which is helpful if stairs are tricky. There's a shower, not a bath. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a fancy hotel.
We've got parking right outside. You can store bikes. We allow up to two dogs. Our horses and chickens are in the field next door if you want to say hello.
The nearest shop and a couple of pubs are in Nafferton, about two miles away. Driffield market town is a ten minute drive for a bigger supermarket.
For coast, you're close to Flamborough and Bempton. The cliffs at RSPB Bempton Cliffs are spectacular for seabirds. There are good dog-walking beaches too.
Inland, you've got the Yorkshire Wolds right there. Quiet lanes for cycling, some very steep. The Welcome to Yorkshire site has walking routes. Beverley is a lovely town to visit, about twenty minutes by car. York, Scarborough and the North York Moors are all within an hour's drive if you want a day out.
