The Byre is in Brigham, which is a small hamlet near Driffield. It's a converted farm building from the 1700s. There are a few other cottages here, but yours is separate. You get your own patio with a barbecue. There's about an acre of shared garden land, which is nicely kept.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well done up and comfortable. It has underfloor heating and a wood burner. The stairs are fine, but like most old buildings, the ceilings are a bit low in places.
For kids, there's a children's farm on site where they can help feed the animals. There's also a shared games room with a full-size snooker table and table tennis. Outside, there's a sandpit and some pedal tractors.
The property is right by the Driffield Canal. There's a small jetty if you want to bring a canoe. Fishing is nearby.
For days out, Driffield is a few miles away for shops. York is about a 45-minute drive. It's got the Minster, the Jorvik Centre, and the National Railway Museum. The east coast beaches like Bridlington, Scarborough, and Filey are within half an hour. The Yorkshire Wolds are right here for walking.
Facilities: It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Parking is on site. No pets, sorry.
