The Old Forge
The Old Forge is on our stud farm in Tophill Low. It's a conversion, so it's got thick walls and feels solid. It sleeps five, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms are en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating.
Downstairs is one open room. There's a wood burner, a sofa and a table. The kitchen has what you need. Upstairs, the bedrooms are under the eaves so you get the vaulted ceilings, but mind your head in a couple of spots.
Outside the back is a small courtyard with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon. There's also a hot tub out there.
You're on a working farm. We have mares and foals. You're welcome to have a look around the yard, just check with us first. If you want to bring your own horse, we have stabling available, so ask about that.
The location is quiet. It's a proper getaway. The nearest shop and a couple of pubs are in Brandesburton, about three miles away.
For the coast, Fraisthorpe Beach is about ten miles. It's good for long walks and you can ride horses on it. Further up the coast, Hornsea is a traditional seaside town. For birdwatching, RSPB Bempton Cliffs is about a 40 minute drive. Spurn Point is a bit further, maybe an hour.
Beverley is a nice market town, about 20 minutes by car. It's got the Minster, some good shops and places to eat. They race there sometimes. Driffield is closer, about a 15 minute drive.
In terms of what's here, you've got the hot tub, a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to three dogs. There's parking right outside.
