The Old Forge
The Old Forge is on our stud farm, at Tophill Low. It's not remote, but it's quiet out here. The farm track is a bit bumpy, just so you know.
It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. Both have their own shower rooms, which is handy. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and looked after. The stairs are a little steep, like most conversions.
Downstairs is all open plan. There's a wood burner, and one of the sofas folds out into a bed if you need it. The kitchen has what you need. Outside is a small courtyard with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon. The hot tub is there too.
You're welcome to have a look around the farm, if you like horses. We've usually got mares and foals in the fields. If you're bringing your own horse, we can sort stabling, just ask beforehand.
In terms of location, you'll need a car. The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away, in Brandesburton. The coast is about ten miles. Fraisthorpe Beach is good for long walks, and you can ride horses there. Hornsea is a traditional seaside town with a beach and promenade.
Beverley is lovely, about a twenty minute drive. Nice market town, good shops and places to eat. Driffield is closer, about ten minutes. If you want a big day out, the coast north of Bridlington has the RSPB Bempton Cliffs for seabirds, and the Yorkshire Dales are under an hour's drive west.
For facilities, it's got pretty much what's on the list: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to three dogs.
