The Old Stables is on our farm just outside Tickton. It's a working arable farm, so you'll see tractors about. The building was the old stable block. We converted it a few years back. It sleeps ten.
There are five bedrooms. Four are upstairs, one is on the ground floor. All of them have their own bathroom, which is useful with a group. The main bathroom has a free-standing bath.
The living area is open plan, kitchen and sitting room together. The ceilings are high with the original beams. Up on the back wall, there are these small stained-glass windows we had made. They show a working horse and foal. They let light in onto the upstairs landing.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic. The floors downstairs have underfloor heating, so it's warm underfoot.
You're welcome to walk around the farm tracks. The River Hull isn't far for a longer walk. You can bring bikes. We have an EV charger if you need it.
Beverley is about two and a half miles away. Good for the minster, shops, and the racecourse. The coast at Hornsea is about ten miles. It's got a promenade and amusements.
Further out, Hull is about half an hour. The Deep aquarium is there if that's your sort of thing. York is roughly an hour's drive for a day out.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones. There's a BBQ outside and a games room in one of the other farm buildings. You can bring two dogs.
