The Cart Shed is here in Tickton, on the family farm. It's an arable farm, so you'll see tractors and combines about, depending on the season.
It sleeps eight, but with three bedrooms. Two rooms are set up with a double and a single bed each, and the third has twin singles. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The open plan living space is upstairs, which is a bit different. The bedrooms are all on the ground floor.
Being a converted farm building, there are some quirks. The beams are low in places, so watch your head. The stairs are a typical farmhouse staircase, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
You're welcome to bring two dogs. The garden is enclosed. There's on-site parking and an electric vehicle charger.
Inside, it's straightforward. Underfloor heating downstairs, a wood burner upstairs in the living area, a TV in each bedroom, and a washing machine and dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. There's also a games room with a pool table in a shared barn, which you can book for a private slot.
You can walk around the farm tracks. The riverbank is good for a stroll. Beverley is about two and a half miles away. It's a nice market town, has a minster and a racecourse. The coast at Hornsea is about a twenty minute drive.
For bigger days out, The Deep aquarium in Hull is about half an hour away. York is roughly an hour's drive. The York Minster website has visiting information, and the National Trust has details on nearby properties like Beningbrough Hall.
The other two cottages on site, The Old Stable and The Old Barn, can be booked together if you're a bigger group.
