The Hen House is in Kilham, which is a small village in the East Riding. It's one of two cottages we have, and is behind the main house. It sleeps two people.
It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. Everything is on one level inside, which is useful. The door is wide enough for a wheelchair. The main room is open plan with the kitchen and sitting area together. There's a wood burner. The bedroom is off that room, and it has a king size bed and its own wet room shower.
Outside is an enclosed gravel garden. It looks out over the fields. You get the morning sun there.
The village has a pub you can walk to. For a bigger shop or a day at the seaside, Bridlington is about a 15 minute drive. It has two beaches and the promenade. For walking or cycling, you can start right from the door on the Wolds. The roads are quiet.
A few things are within half an hour by car. Burton Agnes Hall is a lovely manor house. Sledmere House is another. Sewerby Hall is in Bridlington and has the cliffs and a small zoo. Flamborough Head is good for coastal walks.
The facilities list is mostly accurate. It has a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ. No pets.
