The Garden Cottage

The Garden Cottage is on the Thorpe Hall estate near Rudston. It's detached, built around 1790. It used to be an apple store for the estate. It sleeps ten people, which is a lot, but there are five bedrooms and five bathrooms so everyone gets a bit of space.

It's got a 5 Star rating. It's been restored but they kept a lot of the original features. The ground floor has full disabled access, which includes a twin bedroom with its own wet room. There are three bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs. All the rooms are fairly big and light. Having a separate living room is useful if you're a big group.

The garden is enclosed. You get parking on site. It has a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.

You're about a mile from Rudston village. There's a small shop about a mile and a half away. The nearest pub is in the village, about three miles. Bridlington is just over four miles away. That's your proper seaside town with a beach.

There's a lot to do nearby. Sewerby Hall is a few minutes' drive. Flamborough Head and the RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs are about fifteen minutes by car. You can see puffins and gannets there. Castle Howard and Burton Agnes Hall are also within easy reach for a day out.

If you're planning trips, these sites are useful: RSPB Bempton Cliffs and National Trust Yorkshire.
