Springdale Farmhouse is near Rudston, up on the Yorkshire Wolds. It's a detached place, sleeps up to fifteen. Six bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The house is big because it used to be two cottages knocked together. That means there are two staircases. There are three different living rooms, so people can spread out. The main one has an open fire. The kitchen is country style, plenty of worktop space for cooking for a crowd. Appliances are modern.
One of the bedrooms is upstairs on its own floor, with vaulted ceilings. The beams are very low in there, so mind your head. It has two zip and link beds, which is handy.
Outside, there's an enclosed paved area at the back that gets the sun. At the front, there's lawn and a wood-fired hot tub. The views are over open fields. You often see hares, and sometimes deer. It's very dark at night, good for stars.
The local pub is about a mile away in the village. They do good food. Bridlington is seven miles east for the beach and the harbour. The RSPB at Bempton Cliffs is close, for the seabirds. Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House are both within about half an hour's drive if you like stately homes.
For facilities: it's got pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, bedding and towels included. There's a games room, bike storage, and an electric vehicle charger. Parking for several cars. You can bring up to three dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
If you're planning walks or days out, the Yorkshire and North York Moors National Park websites are useful. York and Hull are both under an hour away by car.
