Squirrel Creek
Squirrel Creek is a lodge on a holiday park near Luckett, in Cornwall. It's not remote. You're on a park with other lodges, but you've got your own deck and garden space. The main appeal is you get to use the park's facilities. There are indoor and outdoor pools and a gym. If that's not your thing, then this probably isn't the place for you.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms downstairs. One double with an en-suite shower room, and two twins. There's a family bathroom down there too. The living room and kitchen are upstairs. It's a reverse-level layout. That means the balcony is off the living area and looks over the stream. The stream isn't loud, you can just hear it. There's a hot tub on the deck downstairs.
The lodge has a 4 Star rating. It's modern and clean. Everything works. You get bedding and towels. There's parking right outside.
You can bring two dogs. The deck is enclosed, but it's not totally escape-proof for a determined small dog, so you'd need to keep an eye on them.
For things to do, you're well placed. You're right on the edge of the Tamar Valley. The Dartmoor National Park is about a 25 minute drive. Bodmin Moor is about half an hour west. Plymouth is roughly 20 minutes south for shops and the waterfront.
The closest beaches are on the south coast, like Seaton or Downderry. They're about a 30 minute drive. Looe and Fowey are a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. They're proper Cornish harbour towns.
