This one is called Fennel. It's in Dunterton, which is right on the border between Devon and Cornwall, near Tavistock.
It's part of a bigger place called Sherrill Farm. There are a few cottages converted from the old farm buildings, set in a fair bit of land. Fennel is one of them. It sleeps seven, in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy.
The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable. The main thing about here, honestly, is the stuff you can use on site. There's a big indoor heated swimming pool, a hot tub, a gym, and a games room with a bowling alley. They're open until 9pm. Outside, there's an all-weather tennis court, a kids' play area, and a few ponds. Two are for fishing, one is for wildlife.
It's a quiet spot. You see a lot of birds, sometimes badgers and foxes in the fields.
For getting out, Dartmoor is very close if you want proper walks. The Tamar Valley is a short drive, with some nice villages. Tavistock is about six miles away. It's a proper market town with shops and a pannier market.
You're about half an hour from the north coast of Cornwall and the south coast of Devon, so you can choose your beach day. The coast is about 20 miles either way.
There's a pub about a mile down the road that does food. The nearest shop is a few miles, so you'll want to bring a big shop with you.
In the cottage, you've got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding is included. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is right outside.
