Sage is a detached cabin in Lamerton, which is out towards the edge of Dartmoor. It’s just for two people. You’ve got your own bit of garden and it looks out over fields.
It gets a 4 Star rating which, honestly, mainly means it’s newer and has things like an en-suite shower room and underfloor heating. It’s all on one level so there are no steps, and the doorway is wide enough for a wheelchair.
The cabin is part of Hurlditch Court, which has a few other places on the same land. So you get the quiet of 81 acres of fields and woods, but you might see other guests around sometimes. It’s open plan inside.
There’s a pub a mile away in the village. It’s a proper old local. For a shop, you’d drive to Tavistock, which is about three miles. It’s a small market town with the basic things you’d need.
You’re in a good spot for Dartmoor. It’s a few minutes in the car until you’re up on the tors. You can walk or cycle straight from the gate too. The Tamar Valley is close, about a 15 minute drive west. For the coast, you’re looking at 45 minutes to an hour to places like Whitsand Bay or the South Hams.
Plymouth is 18 miles away for a bigger day out. The National Trust’s Cotehele and Buckland Abbey are both within a 30 minute drive and are worth a visit.
Facilities wise: there’s a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and parking right outside. All bedding and towels are included. No pets are allowed.
