Mimi's Meadow
Mimi's Meadow is one of three shepherd huts, all separate from each other. It's in its own bit of field, near Meadwell in Devon. It's for two people. You get the spot to yourselves.
It's got a wood-fired hot tub outside. The views from it are good, day or night. There's a firepit that works as a barbecue too. Inside, there's a log burner for when it's cold. The bed is a kingsize. All bedding and towels are included.
The kitchen is small but has what you need. There's a hot chocolate machine from Hotel Chocolat. You'll find some sachets for that, plus tea, coffee, and milk when you arrive. They also leave some scones with jam and cream.
The shower room is modern and works well. The hut is warm. The doors open wide so you can sit and look out over the fields. There are some Dartmoor ponies in a nearby paddock.
It's quiet here. You're a bit off the beaten track. There's parking right by the hut.
For things to do, Dartmoor is close. The Tamar Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tavistock has a market and places to eat. Plymouth is about a 30 minute drive if you want a city day. The Dartmoor National Park website is good for planning walks.
That's about it. It's a comfortable hut if you want a quiet break.
