Birch Lodge is in Chipshop, which is a hamlet just outside Tavistock. It's a first-floor apartment, one of two. You're right next to the Copper Penny Inn, which is the village pub.
It sleeps five. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious.
The owners run the pub and are local farmers. They have a farm shop on-site selling their own meat and veg. The pub serves food. For other shops, you'd need to head into Tavistock, which is about two and a half miles.
You're on the edge of the Tamar Valley, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Tamar Trails for walking and cycling are less than a mile away. Tavistock is an old market town. For a day out, Cotehele, which is a National Trust house and garden, is nearby on the river. In the other direction, the coast at Plymouth is about a 30-minute drive.
In terms of what's here: there's Wi-Fi, a TV, parking, and all the bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are available if you need them. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
