Tamar Orchard Barn is our place in Gunnislake. It's a converted barn, so it's on its own in the garden. It sleeps two, one bedroom with a kingsize bed and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You come in through an old stable door. Inside it's simple, with the original wooden beams. The patio doors from the bedroom look out over the garden and the valley. It's quiet up here.
The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs. We allow two. You might meet our dog, Fudge, who likes to say hello and sometimes gives a tour of the grounds.
Gunnislake station is at the end of the drive. The Tamar Valley Line train goes to Plymouth. The views from the train are good. Calstock village is two miles away, and in summer you can get a boat from there down the river.
Tavistock is about four miles away for shops and markets. The National Trust's Cotehele house and gardens are the same distance. You're right in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty here, so walking is the main thing. Dartmoor is a short drive for bigger walks.
For facilities, it's got a TV, WiFi, parking, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a patio with a BBQ. The shower is a walk-in type.
