The Little House
The Little House is our cottage in Calstock. It's just over the garden from our place, but it's completely separate. You get the place to yourselves. It's got one bedroom, so it's just for two people. There's one bathroom too. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well kept.
The view from the front is good. You look over the fields and down towards the river.
It's a detached building, so no shared walls. There's a small enclosed garden and patio area. You can use the BBQ. Parking is right there on the gravel.
Inside it's got a washing machine. Towels and bedding are included. We can provide a cot if it's needed.
We do allow one well-behaved dog.
The village shop and local pub are about quarter of a mile down the lane. The pub does a good pint. They serve food as well.
Calstock is by the River Tamar. There's a public slipway into the river if you've brought kayaks or a canoe. It's tidal, so you need to check the times. The village can get busy for the motorcycle festival the first weekend in August.
For walking, you're right in the Tamar Valley. Tavistock is a market town about twenty minutes away by car. Dartmoor is maybe half an hour, for the tors and open space. You can get to the north coast beaches, like Widemouth Bay, in roughly forty-five minutes. The south coast, places like Looe, is about the same.
