The Old School House is in Horrabridge, just outside Dartmoor National Park. It's a big, solid stone building from 1875. It used to be the village school.
It sleeps up to 24 people. There are seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, so you don't have to queue. Two of the bedrooms have baths in the room itself. There's also a double bedroom on the ground floor with its own bathroom.
The main kitchen and dining room is huge, with a big table that seats twenty. The living room is also enormous, with two separate seating areas and a wood burner. There's a games room with a pool table and dartboard.
At one end, there's an annexe with its own little kitchen and living area, and two bedrooms upstairs. It's useful if part of the group wants a bit of space. There are three staircases in total. They're normal, not steep.
The garden is enclosed, with a big lawn, a decked area with a BBQ, and a kids' play area. There are two hot tubs. Parking is easy, for about eight cars.
Horrabridge has the basics: a shop, a post office, a bakery, a fish and chip shop, and two pubs. Tavistock, the proper market town, is about ten minutes drive away.
You're right on the edge of Dartmoor. You can walk straight out onto the moor from here. Plymouth is about twenty minutes by car for a bigger city day out.
Things to know: the rating is 5 Star. Pets are allowed, up to four. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot if you need it.
