Elderberry House is on a place called Sherrill Farm, near Dunterton. It's on the Devon and Cornwall border, up a private driveway. The cottages are converted from old barns, about 300 years old I think. They're set around a central courtyard.
It sleeps a lot of people, thirteen in total. Five bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom, so five bathrooms as well. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the leisure stuff you get to use. There's a large indoor heated swimming pool, a jacuzzi, and a gym. There's also a bowling alley and a games room. All of that is open until 9pm. Outside, there's a kids' play area and an all-weather tennis court. You can hire rackets.
The farm itself is 16 acres. There are three ponds. Two are stocked for fishing if you're into that, and one is just for wildlife. You see a lot of birds, and sometimes foxes and badgers in the evening.
Inside the house, it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding is included and there's a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is on site.
Location wise, you're right between Tavistock and Launceston. Dartmoor National Park is very close, maybe a ten or fifteen minute drive. It's proper walking country up there. The Tamar Valley is a short drive away too, with places like Morwellham Quay.
Tavistock is about six miles. It's a market town with shops and a pannier market. For the coast, you're looking at about a 40 minute drive to get to north or south Devon, or into Cornwall.
The nearest pub is about a mile away, and there's a shop roughly four and a half miles away.
