The Smithy is a converted barn off a country lane near Brentor. It's detached and next to our house, but you've got your own space. It's for two people, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable, not fancy.
Inside it's all on one level, which is handy. The main room is open plan. There's a kitchen area with a dishwasher and washing machine, a sitting area with a TV, and a table. The bathroom has a shower. The bedroom is through a door. We include all the bedding and towels.
Outside there's a private patio area with a table and a BBQ. It looks out over the fields. There's parking right there, and a shed if you bring bikes.
You're right on the edge of Dartmoor. The open moor starts about a quarter of a mile up the road. You can walk straight out. Brentor Church is up on the tor, you can see it from here. It's a good walk up there.
The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in Mary Tavy. They do food. For a bigger shop, Tavistock is about a 15-minute drive. It's a proper town with supermarkets and butchers.
You're within Dartmoor National Park, so the walking is right on your doorstep. For other days out, Lydford Gorge is about 20 minutes away. The Tamar Valley is to the west. The north coast, around Bude, is about a 40-minute drive.
One dog is welcome. Please bring its own bed and towel.
