Chapel Cottage is in Lydford, on the west side of Dartmoor. It's a stone cottage, so the walls are thick and the rooms feel solid. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs. The bedrooms are a decent size. One has a king-size bed, the other has a double and a single together. The shower room is a good size too.
Downstairs is a bit of an odd layout, which is normal for these places. You come into the main living area with a wood burner and a TV. Through an archway is the main kitchen and a walk-in pantry, which is handy. There's a door out to the garden from there. The garden has a patio and lawn.
You're right in the village. Lydford Gorge is a five-minute walk. It's owned by the National Trust. It's a deep gorge with waterfalls and good walking paths. St Petroc's Church and the castle are just up the road. There are two pubs, both about 16th century, and a farm shop, all within walking distance.
For wider Dartmoor walks, you're already on it. The Granite Way cycle path starts nearby. Tavistock is about 15 minutes south for shops and a supermarket. Okehampton is about the same drive north.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels are included. Parking is on-site. You can bring two dogs.
