Swallows Nest
Swallows Nest is on our farm at Stowford Barton, right on the Devon and Cornwall border. It's a detached barn conversion. You get your own enclosed garden and patio out the back. It's sunny in the afternoon.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, which is handy. We let one well-behaved dog stay. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside.
You share a games room with the other cottage here. It's got a pool table, table tennis, darts and a football table. It's in a separate building.
The nearest shop and pub doing food is about a mile and a half away, in Lewdown. For a bigger shop, the Lifton Farm Shop is excellent, about four miles. It's got a great deli and restaurant.
You're about seven miles from the edge of Dartmoor. The tors at Brentor are close. For walks, Roadford Lake is nearby and good for dogs. The north Cornish coast around Bude is roughly twenty miles. It gets busy in summer but the beaches are good.
Launceston is nine miles away. It has a castle ruin and a supermarket. The Eden Project and Lydford Gorge are both about a forty minute drive.
