The Old Broadley Chapel is in Lobhillcross, near Lewdown. It's a converted chapel, so you'll see it as soon as you drive up. It looks out over the fields towards Dartmoor.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, which is handy with a full house. It's got a 5 Star rating so everything is done to a good standard.
The main thing is the space inside. The ceiling is very high, the old stone chimney breast is still there, and there's a wood burner. The upstairs is a gallery that looks down over the living area. It's got panelled glass so you don't feel closed in up there. The stairs are proper stairs, not a ladder, but they are open-tread and go with the style of the place.
The kitchen is well-equipped. It's got a dishwasher, a washing machine, a coffee machine. There's a decent sized garden to the side and plenty of parking.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included.
Location wise, it's quiet. There's a local pub within walking distance. For walking, you're right on the edge of Dartmoor. Dartmoor National Park has all the route information. Roadford Lake is about a 15 minute drive for sailing or fishing. Lydford Gorge is impressive, it's run by the National Trust. Tavistock is a 20 minute drive and has a good market and places to eat. Launceston is about the same distance the other way, into Cornwall.
If you want a day out, Plymouth is under 40 minutes away. The north Cornwall coast, like Bude, is just over half an hour's drive.
