The Farmers Den is an annexe next to my farmhouse just outside Lydford. It sleeps up to three people. There's a king-sized four-poster bed and a single day bed in the one bedroom.
It's all on the ground floor. The living area is open plan with a kitchenette. You get a fridge, microwave, and a two-plate induction hob. There's a TV with a Firestick and a DVD player. The shower room is pretty good, with a big walk-in shower.
Outside, there's a seating area in the field by the wedding barn we run here. The view from there is across our land towards the moor. You can park right outside.
You'll likely meet our three dogs, Martha, Fergie, and Holly. They're friendly and like to say hello.
The big thing is the location. You can walk straight onto Dartmoor from the end of the drive. It's proper moorland out there. Lydford village is a short walk away and has two old pubs. The famous Lydford Gorge is there too.
Tavistock is about 7 miles south and Okehampton is 8 miles north. Both are market towns with shops. The coast, like Bude, is about an hour's drive. For planning days out on the moor, the Dartmoor National Park Authority site is useful.
Facilities wise: Wi-Fi is included, as are bedding and towels. The property has a 4 Star rating. We can accept up to two dogs. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear the usual farm sounds.
