Hillside Hideaway is a bungalow on Pope's Hill in Gloucestershire. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's for two people, with one bedroom and one shower room.
The main room is all open plan, kitchen, living area, dining table. It's light. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings and doors out to a glass-fronted balcony. The view from there is the best thing about the place. You can see right out over the Forest of Dean and the Severn.
There's a small private garden at the back too. Good for a dog, as you can bring one. Facilities are what you'd expect: Wi-Fi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included.
Being here, you're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. It's good for walking straight from the door. For a specific walk, the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is about a 15 minute drive. Symonds Yat is also close, maybe 20 minutes. Good for a view from the rock or a canoe on the Wye.
If you're into history, Tintern Abbey is about half an hour away. Clearwell Caves and the Dean Heritage Centre are within 30 minutes too.
It's a quiet spot. There are pubs and farm shops a short drive away, but you won't walk to them. It's a place to come back to after being out.
