The Cow Shed
The Cow Shed is a converted barn on our dairy farm in Arlingham. It's just for two people. You get the whole place to yourselves.
It's a 4 Star property, which is a comfortable standard. Everything is on one level except for a couple of steps inside. It's open plan, so the living area, kitchen and bed are all in one big space. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see cows. There's also clay pigeon shooting available at weekends if you book it in advance.
The local village pub is about a five minute walk through the woods. They do food. There's another good pub, famous for its seafood, also within walking distance.
The River Severn runs along the edge of the farm for about two miles. There are paths right there, and places to stop for a picnic. For a longer walk, the Severn Way passes nearby.
Frampton-on-Severn is the next village along. It has a very long village green, a couple of pubs, and a shop.
If you're driving out for the day, Slimbridge Wetland Centre is about fifteen minutes away. Berkeley Castle is about twenty minutes. The Forest of Dean and the start of the Cotswolds are within half an hour. Gloucester, with its cathedral and docks, is about twenty-five minutes.
There's parking right outside. We include all bedding and towels. There's a washing machine. WiFi works fine. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
