The Cow Shed

The Cow Shed is on our dairy farm in Arlingham. It's a converted barn, sleeps two, one bedroom and bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's warm and dry, clean and tidy.

You're right on the horseshoe bend of the River Severn. The views over the river to the Cotswold hills and the Forest of Dean are very good. There's a two mile stretch of riverbank on the farm for walks or sitting by the water.

The stairs up to the bedroom are a proper ship's ladder. They're steep and you need to be careful. If you have any trouble with stairs, this isn't the place for you.

There's a wood burning stove for evenings in. It works well. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, Wi-Fi, TV, and parking right outside.

We're a working farm, so you'll see cows and tractors about. You can hear farm noises. We can sometimes arrange clay pigeon shooting on a weekend if you book it with us in advance.

The local village pub is about a fifteen minute walk through the woods. They do food. Another good pub, famous for seafood, is also walkable. Frampton-on-Severn is a short drive away, it's got the longest village green in England and a couple of pubs.

Useful links for planning: Slimbridge Wetland Centre, National Trust Cotswolds, and Forest of Dean.

Within about half an hour you can get to Berkeley Castle, Westonbirt Arboretum, or the docks at Gloucester. Cheltenham, Bristol and the Cotswolds are all easy for a day out.

You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a charge for that.
