The Hay Barn

The Hay Barn is a converted barn on our farm in Arlingham. It's on the bend of the River Severn. You get views of the Cotswold escarpment and the Forest of Dean from here.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are a typical barn conversion style, so they're quite open-tread and steep. We've fitted a stairgate at the top.

It's a working dairy farm, so you'll see and hear the cows. The barn is on its own, so your garden and patio are private. You're welcome to walk along the river on the farm. There's about two miles of bank. It's dead flat and good for a gentle stroll or a picnic.

The village pub is about a fifteen minute walk through the woods. It does decent food. There's another good pub, famous for seafood, about the same distance the other way. Both are walkable if you don't mind a bit of mud in the woods.

For a proper day out, you're in a good spot. Slimbridge Wetland Centre is about a twenty minute drive. Frampton-on-Severn has the long village green and is ten minutes away. Berkeley Castle is about fifteen minutes. Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Stroud are all within half an hour. The Forest of Dean is about twenty-five minutes over the bridge.

For facilities: everything on the list is there. The washing machine, WiFi, TV, highchair, cot, all bedding and towels. Parking is right outside. We take up to two well-behaved dogs.
