The Nag's Stable

The Nag's Stable is one of a few barn conversions on our dairy farm in Arlingham. It's just for two people. One bedroom. One bathroom with a shower.

You'll be on a working farm. You'll see cows. It's quiet, just fields and the river. The view from the garden is over towards the Cotswold Escarpment on one side and the Forest of Dean on the other. You can park right outside.

Inside, it's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up warm and comfortable. There's a wood burner. The kitchen has a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi is decent. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

The garden is yours to use. It’s got a patio. You can take up to two dogs. We ask that they're kept on a lead around the farm for safety.

The village pub is about a quarter of a mile away, down a footpath through some woods. They do food. There's another good pub a bit further on, famous for its fish. Frampton-on-Severn is the next village. It's got a very long village green, a shop, a couple of pubs and walks along the canal.

The River Severn runs along the edge of the farm for a couple of miles. There are proper walks right from the door, including the Severn Way. It's flat, good for an easy stroll. You can walk to the riverbank for a picnic.

If you want to go further, Slimbridge Wetland Centre is about a 15 minute drive. Berkeley Castle is similar. The Forest of Dean is about half an hour for walking or cycling. Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud are within 30 minutes by car. The Cotswolds, Bristol and Bath are a bit further but doable for a day out.
