The Petit Manor

The Petit Manor is a wing of our house, which is a big old listed building near Awre. It's just for two people. You get the place to yourselves, plus the garden and use of a big field we share with the other wing.

It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. Downstairs is all one room: kitchen, dining table, sofas. There's a wood burner. The ceiling over the table is glass, so you can see the sky. Upstairs is the bedroom and the shower room. The bedroom has a free-standing bathtub in it, under another glass ceiling. The views from up there are over the fields.

The stairs are the original ones, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than a modern house. Something to be aware of.

You can walk down to the River Severn in about ten minutes. For proper days out, the Forest of Dean is right there. You can go walking, cycling, or try the adventure stuff like Go Ape. We sometimes see wild boar around the lanes, so just be mindful if you're out walking.

In terms of what's here, we've tried to think of what you might need. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.

It's a quiet spot. The nearest shop and pub are in the village, about a mile away. For a wider choice, Lydney or Gloucester are a short drive. The Wye Valley and towns like Monmouth and Tintern are within half an hour.

Useful links: Forest of Dean District Council for local information and Wye Valley for the area across the river.
