The Lambing Shed is on our farm just outside Lydney. It's a converted barn, so it's all on one level. You look out over the yard and the fields.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, one double and one twin, and it actually has two shower rooms. One is an en-suite to the double room. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main room is all open plan. That’s the kitchen, dining area, and living space together. There's a wood burner in there which is nice in the colder months. The kitchen window faces the yard, so you can see what's going on.
Outside, there's a private bit of patio that's enclosed. It gets the sun in the evening. There's a built-in brick barbecue there too.
The farm is still working. You'll see sheep, maybe some cattle. If you're interested, just ask and I can show you around the livestock. A tractor might go past now and then.
The village is under a mile away. There's a shop and a pub that does food. A proper restaurant is about a mile and a half.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. For walking and cycling, you can just go straight out. For specific routes, the Forest of Dean district council site has maps. Visit the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is good for ideas. If you want to go further, you can be in Gloucester in about half an hour. The Severn Bore is a local thing if you time it right.
The facilities are all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
