Rivendell is a bungalow on Blakeney Hill in the Forest of Dean. It's detached, so no one next door. You get great views over to the Severn from the garden.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating, which covers things like the dishwasher and the WiFi being included. The whole place is on one level, which is handy. There's just one small step up to the front path.
The garden is enclosed and mostly flat, with a lawn and a summerhouse. There's also a lower lawn with an orchard, but you get to it down some steps or a sloping path. There's a handrail.
You can walk straight from the garden into the forest. The whole area is good for that, or for cycling and horse riding. Forest of Dean District Council has maps and information. For the wider area, Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is useful.
Blakeney village is a few minutes down the hill by car. It's got a shop, a post office, a pub that does food, and a chip shop. The road up to the bungalow is steep and narrow, so take it easy on the first drive.
If you want to go out, things like Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, or the sculpture trail are about ten or twenty minutes away by car. For a longer day out, Chepstow Castle or Tintern Abbey are roughly half an hour's drive. Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye, and Monmouth are also within that sort of distance.
Facilities are all listed, but the main ones are the washing machine, the wood burner, parking, and the enclosed garden. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
