The Cider Barn is on our farm just outside Elton. It's attached to our house but you've got your own door and a private courtyard. The barn's been converted, so it's got the old stone walls and big oak beams. The old cider mill is still in there, right in the middle of the living room. It doesn't work, it's just part of the building.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, both doubles. One bathroom, it's got a walk-in shower. The stairs are a bit steep, like most old barns. Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, sitting room. There's a wood burner. We'll leave you some logs to get started.
Outside, there's a south-facing courtyard with a table. Beyond that, you're welcome to walk into our fields. We've got some alpacas. They're friendly but they'll mostly ignore you. There's a carp lake down the lane if you fish.
For shops, you're about half a mile from a garage that sells basics. The nearest pub doing food is about a mile and a half away in Elton. It's a proper walking pub.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Good for walking and cycling straight from the door. Symonds Yat and the Wye Valley are about a twenty-minute drive. Chepstow and its castle are about half an hour. Gloucester and Hereford are both within forty-five minutes if you need a city.
In terms of what's here: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
