The Retreat
The Retreat is in Longhope, on the edge of the Forest of Dean. It's a detached house, so no neighbours attached. You've got your own garden and patio area with a barbecue.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is a wet room on the ground floor. It's rated 5 Star. It's comfortable and well looked after.
You can walk straight out onto the public footpaths from here. We also have a farm next door, and guests are welcome to walk through our land. There are woodland paths and old orchards to explore.
There's a pub about a quarter of a mile away that does food. The village shop is half a mile. Longhope itself has a very good bakery.
For days out, you're right by the Forest of Dean. Good for walking and cycling. The Forest of Dean website has maps and details. Puzzlewood and the Perrygrove Steam Railway are popular, both about a 15 minute drive. Go Ape is nearby too.
Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Gloucester are all within a 20 to 30 minute drive. Cheltenham and Hereford are a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.
Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. We accept up to two dogs.
